Indigenous Art

Merrill Pungarte Bray is an inspirational Indigenuous artist who has been painting since childhood. Her works depict landscapes, sunsets, portraits and Aboriginal dot paintings.

Her passion is producing contemporary Aboriginal dot paintings that uniquely depict Micro imagery (drawn from under the microscope) and Macro imagery (from out there in the universe). Merrill sees the Micro and Macro as one and the same, although existing at different levels.

Merrill's Micro works depict the essence of the spirit, string theory vibrations, atoms, molecules, DNA (double helix) and the void where the dreaming takes place. Her Macro works draw from astronomy to depict universes and stardust galaxies filled with nebular gases and clusters of stars.

The result is startlingly beautiful paintings rich in colour and full of spirituality and meaning.
