Living Movement

About Our Business

Living Movement teaches Eurythmy - the art of beautiful rhythm. Although developed by Rudolf Steiner in 1911 /12 to bring music and speech into the visible realm, it is still relatively unknown (most commonly in the curriculum taught at Steiner Schools).

Eurythmy engages the whole of the human being in movement, and connects all who are participating as a unified group working harmoniously to bring a poem or a piece of music into movement.

In a class the teacher has the task to lead the student to experience and learn music and poetry through movement.

Eurythmy whilst engaging the physical body also engages the soul life of a person. The movements will show the joy or sorrow of the piece, the passion even the antipathy. The movement also touches that which is spiritual within us and is firmly founded in Anthroposophy.

Living Movement is a business that offers classes in various venues around the southern part of Tasmania, enabling Eurythmy to be available to any person over the age of 4yrs interested in participating in this lovely art form.
